THERE’S ALWAYS MORE TO THE STORY: Here is minE.
MY PURPOSE AND MY STORY
WHAT?
Over the years I have picked up the knowledge of a variety of skills. Such as video editing, motion graphics, audio/music production, photography and videography, and setting up and maintaining industry-standard video systems. If you haven’t seen my work yet, click here.
How do I do it? If I can get into the weeds a bit: I use Adobe creative suite, and Cinema 4D to create visuals. For LED and set design, I use Realizzer/Unreal and Sketchup. Sprinkle in a lot of Redbull and prayer and you’ve got the Sam Anderson recipe for success.
WHEN?
It became very clear in high school, that a traditional college experience was not going to be beneficial to me. I loved so many different things: graphic design, music, live AVL, cinematography, etc. I made the decision to dive right into the workforce. A lot of my skills have been learned from the internet, trial and error, and sitting behind Premiere for more hours than I can even count. Seeking out different growth opportunities along the way, I have had many practical learning experiences. The most impactful of these is the Leadership Residency program at Traders Point Christian Church. I didn’t go to school for this. However, I have been blessed with some great mentors, and just tried things; noting what worked and what didn’t.
WHY?
Growing up in the church is where I was first introduced to production and technology. This ignited my passion for technology in a ministry setting. Whether it’s creating things, or showing others the tips and tricks I have learned on the way, I love giving back wherever I can!
It is my purpose: “to use my love of technology to create innovative environments that bring people closer to Jesus”. That passion and that purpose is why I have learned the skills I have today.
Why do I do it? I love being able to simply DO things. I have always loved getting to learn skills practically, and hands-on. At the end of the day, I do this all to bring people to Jesus. Even if it’s doing simple graphics, I do it all for His glory.
